FAQ
Preferred Design Programs:
- MAC/PC Quark ver 5.0 or higher
- MAC/PC PageMaker ver 6.5 or higher
- MAC/PC Illustrator ver 10.0 or higher
- MAC/PC Photoshop ver 5.0 or higher
- MAC/PC InDesign ver 2.0 or higher
Preferred File formats :
- Native
- All fonts
- High res pictures
- High res PDFs
Accepted Media:
Reminders for file Preperation:
- Convert all RGB files to CMYK
- We cannot match your monitor to the press
- Link all graphics files
- Provide a copy of your job – not the original
- Need folded lasers with numbered pages
- Include all fonts (screen and printer) on disk.
- No True Type fonts for the MAC. (PC is OK)
- Do not use colored text with fonts smaller than 12 pt
- Do not include files that are not relevant to the job
- FPO (for position only) graphics should be marked as such
- Add 1/8" to all sides of your copy to accommodate bleeds. Note: Envelopes
cannot bleed on any side.
- Save all photos at 350dpi resolution or better
- PMS color numbers are required
- Do not use images pulled from the internet
- Proofs are generated to a "pleasing color" standard.
Reminders for Printing:
- Small knockouts or screens within a heavy coverage is difficult to hold open
- Varnish is recommended for:
- Heavy coverage
- Blue solids or other dark colors
- Screens on coated paper
- Any document that bleeds
- Metallic inks and yellows do not trap well
- Spot color built from CMYK will not be an exact match to the Pantone color chart
- Color correction cannot be done on the press. Corrections must be done in file preparation for an additional charge
- We usually ship exact quantities.
